TERMINOLOGY EXPLAIN:

To ensure effective and efficient operation of the factories in accordance with best management practices the following Organisational Structure for the Defence Industry Command (DIC) is proposed:
  • E & E: Electrical and Electronic Department
  • P & P: Printing and Publishing Department
  • Ft/W: Footwear Division
  • Textile and Garment
  • Solar Division
  • Pharma: Pharmaceuticals Department
  • Civil Works Department
  • Ship Building Industry
  • Mining Department
  • Agriculture and Agro Division
  • Ammunition and Explosive
  • Ship Building Industry
  • Vehicle Parts Department
  • Food Processing Department

NOTE

The Military High Command in consultation with the Ministry of Defence decided to establish a new department at the General Headquarters known as the Defence Industries Department (DID) last month.
  • Secretariat / Admin Staff of five (5) shall be headed by a Major or Civilian of a Major rank status.
  • Finance Department shall be headed by a Colonel who should be a qualified Accountant or a Civilian of a Colonel rank status.
  • Human Resource Department shall be headed by a Lieutenant Colonel who should be a qualified Human Resource Manager or a Civilian of similar status.
  • The Sale / Marketing Department shall be headed by a Lieutenant Colonel who should be a qualified marketing officer or a civilian of similar status
  • The Research and Development Department should be headed by a Colonel who should be qualified and has experience in research techniques and methodology in a Corporate environment or a civilian of similar status.
  • The Corporate Affairs Department should be headed by a Lieutenant Colonel who is a qualified communications expert or a civilian of a similar status.
  • Heads of the various operational Departments or factories should be qualified personnel with entrepreneurial and managerial capabilities. This could be retired Service Personnel or civilians.
  • The proposed organisational structure is without prejudice to any corporate organisational structure that will be proposed for the 10 departments that will be responsible for the manufacturing of the identified items.
